‘Bloom’ looks at the greening of Israel’s deserts through large scale projects of afforestation, situating the programme within the broader context of the conservation movement and global climate change. The film looks at contemporary visions for the land itself, and how these ideologies are being played out in the landscape, and within the communities who occupy it.
