DESERT PASSAGES 2026
Direction and Production -
Kevin Brennan, Laurence Durkin
Another year slips by. The Colorado River continues on its seemingly inevitable decline. Reservoirs drop to record lows, and access to water tightens across the American Southwest and Northern Mexico. Underlying tensions begin to surface across the region—between the United States and Mexico, between the U.S. government and Indigenous nations, between the demands of a rapidly expanding metropolis, and the natural world. As the river fades, the fragile balance sustaining life in the region quietly slips towards a tipping point.
