The Colorado River is drying up. Its reservoirs are falling to record lows as drought ravages the western borderlands of the U.S. and Mexico. The technological mastery that once promised abundance in the West is faltering under the weight of its own ambition. Demand for water outpaces supply, and tensions mount between states, government agencies, indigenous nations, and above all, along the US – Mexican border. The fragile systems sustaining life in the region edge ever closer toward collapse.
